Finally got the stand finished

Here is the setup. I don’t have time to plumb it tonight but I’ll be back on it tomorrow night after work

Finished up the plumbing tonight. Once the pvc cement cures it’ll be time to fill it up and hope my plumbing skills are up to snuff, lol

Yup. Hopefully it’ll be full of water and starting to cycle by Sunday morning. Tonight I’ll rinse my sand and figure out my aquascape and get that ready for tomorrow morning

So apparently I’m an idiot and didn’t put the template for the overflow box in the correct spot when drilling and now my water line is an inch and a half under the top rim of the tank. Not the end of the world but it’s definitely gonna drive me nuts, lol. It’ll be fine for now but when petco has their next dollar per gallon sale I’ll buy another 40 breeder and drill it in the correct spot. So other than my water line being a little lower than I would like the tank is running and Dr Tim’s was added this morning. LET THE CYCLING BEGIN!!! Hahaha

Thanks. My wife really wanted to go with a distressed wood look for the stand so I got a gray stain and she put just a light coat of it on the stand. She only put 1 coat on it because she liked the way the wood grain showed through the stain

Lol I usually rush things too but my work schedule is absolutely nuts and has kinda forced me to slow down with my build

Can you maybe add an elbow facing up? like inside the tank? Maybe easier than starting over.

Without plugging up the teeth on the overflow box and just letting the water flow over the top of the box there is no way to adjust the height. I’ll try to make a video when I get home tonight and if o can’t post the video here I’ll take some detailed pics

So here is the overflow box inside the tank. Without covering the grates in it the water level will not get any higher

This is a side view of the inside and outside overflow box.

This is a top down shot of the outside part of the overflow box. It has a regular drain pipe and an emergency drain pipe. But even if I crank the water height in the box so it is going down the emergency drain it doesn’t change the height of the water in the tank because the box inside the tank sits higher than the outside part.
