I am freaking myself out! Palytoxin poison.

Just cleaning my tank. One of my euphyllia fell on a few palys I have earlier in the day while I was away. I picked it up and out of the water and one of the head was obliterated and had mucus all over it. I picked the euphyllia out of the water and removed the mucus and put it back in. I never took the paly out of the water. But I am wondering if the corals stinging each other could have caused the paly to release the toxin and transfer to the euphyllia that I handled and pulled out of the water. This happen about 30 minutes ago.

I could be over reacting, but I rather be safe than sorry. I have a pregnant wife and small child sleeping upstairs.

No I think not anything will happen. You have described something that has happened at my house lots of times

What is your total tank volume? I think your just fine as long as your house is normally ventilated. If you are concerned and want to do something, do a water change.

Don't worry. As long as you didn't put your hands in your mouth or eyes you should be fine.
Definitely wear a pair of protective goggles in the future if you are working around them. Especially taking them out of the water, fragging, etc. And keep your mouth closed, lol.

Wash your hands and you're good.... this whole thing has been blown wayyyyyy out of proportion lately. As long as your wife and child don't stick there heads over the tank and inhale, all is good

I'm sure everything will be fine. Wash up well and clean everything that has been exposed. Ive had the same thing happen to me.

I have Paly in 2 if my tanks and no issues or concerns. Sort of forget they’re there

Best pictures I could get. The first is what I touched and took out of the tank. Hopefully you can see the string puss. Second is the palys. They have a green inner eye and than a blue outer. It was also next to a wavy kind of brown dark color coral I am blanking on the name right now. It grows like a weed. Its not xenia.

I did not take the coral anywhere else just above the water to inspect. I was pretty close to it to see what was going on and then I put back in.

I do run carbon but am not at the moment. Frankly I do not care about the tank right now just the health of everyone.

I am probably over blowing this and know it but figure I would get opinions of reefers with more experience than me and see if I need to wake everyone up and go to the ER. Which it doesnt sound like I need to do.

do you have coral veiwing glasses ? if so put them over your phone lens and retake pic pls

yeah not pally , zoa , and youll be fine. Not a problem to get concerned certain things can kill you .

Thats a Palythoa on the left its the size of a nickle and has around 60 frills its all green and tan mottled. That is what you need to watch out for

Sorry I confused because the heads are bigger than other ones I have had. Zoas release it too though? Certain things can kill you?

Ok I think I sent you a bad stock image. The colors are right but it has those long frills like eyelashes. Either way I thought both pallys and zoas can cause this?
