That's just reg red flatworm they do no harm in small number buy they multiply fast. When your tank has a lot of detritus they will appear. Just suck as much as u can while do water change

FW Exit, some of your wrasses and Blue Velvet Nudibranchs. I have them in one tank. I have tried the FW exit and the Wrasse, but have not tried the Blue velvet yet.

Ugh, happened to me after I decided to removed my sponge covers on my MP10’s thinking I really didn’t need the,.
( it was about a month later) you don’t know how fast I put those things back on.
Since then ( two years) the anemone hasn’t moved but I know if I removed them that anemone would move

Oh except I just noticed a white dot on my tomini tang. Oh my gosh how frustrating!!!! What is happening! Lol. It doesn’t even look like ich, nore like a parasite. Looks like a small patch of coraline but more white. Not the bright white dots that ich look like. I watch my tank like a hawk and haven’t seen these issues yet. It’s like it’s mad at me for hurting this poor anemone

Yesterday I purchased a beatiful big and healthy rainbow BTA. Got it in the tank and it was looking great. Right before bed it started walking so I stayed up a while to make sure it was safe. It seemed to settle for a while so I called it a night.... but I totally forgot to turn my power heads off. So yes, you guessed it, my beautiful big rainbow BTA got sucked up into my the only power head that stays on 24/7 (behind the rocks to clear detritus). Woke up to a cloudy tank and the nem basically destroyed into the power head. I tried to remove him but he’s really tangled in there so right now I have the power head off just sittin gin the tank with the return pump running and that’s it. I’m reheating aged water I have on hand for a ~25% water change and prepping for another.

Is there anything else I can do at this point? I’m scared to move the nem into a QT tank because it is acclimated to my main tank’s water and in such a fragile state I’m worried it won’t make the transition.

The foot is still completely in tact and I can see some of its tentacles kind of wrapped around the enclosure for the power head so I think I have a chance here at saving it.

Fish are unaffected and the corals seem ok, but the light hasn’t come on yet.

I have the skimmer running wet and will change out for fresh carbon now.

Feel free to call me an idiot.

plus 1 to the suggestion above. I would add to go get a big Tupperware dish.... and some rubble and place it.

I had to root out a couple of big nems out of some rock in my tank and they took to the rubble right away. The Tupperware will give them a place where they can get away from the flow. I would also look to get some light onto them similar to what you had or it had before the entanglement. The picture is of my nems a day after rooting them out. My tank has a ton of flow.

I’m sorry you had to deal with that. I did the same thing. Woke up on New Years Day to find a new anemone shredded by an MP40. So sad. After reading your post I realize that event is likely the cause of my RBTAs retracting and looking bad because of the gunk released into the water. Hope yours survives. Thanks and you too as well. Yeah my torch, Goniopora, and green BTA are still recovering from that. The BTAs tentacles are gone (...?) but I was able to get it to eat by patiently and gently holding food near its mouth.

Also, I had an anemone nightmare of my own last year, I know how sick and guilty it makes you feel but it has happened to many of us - your diligence in working to get him well is to be commended . Don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s unfortunate but it happens sometimes despite our best efforts.

Thanks, seems like most people do go through this or some variation of it. Reef tanks are one of those “be prepared for THE rainy day” hobbies haha. But Yeah, it’s something I struggle with not to get mad at myself. I did my research, have a stable tank, etc but it really distresses me to know I’ve caused harm to a sensitive creature.

I moved the greens BTA to the hospital tank today as well. It started walking and is looking pretty irritated and I can’t be stressing about that all day at work wondering if it is nuking my tank if things go south and harm everything in my big tank. This way I can make sure it’s able to eat and care for it as needed. It was nice and healthy so I’m hoping it will make a quick recovery.

I had a similar incident. Woke up at 4am to the sounds of my power head spitting water and bubbles. Anemone was done for. Emergency water change and hoped for the best. You might able to save yours but chances are you’re gonna lose it. Sorry man. That’s the hobby. We live and learn.

not likely to survive. No harm in trying though. In the future, use a 'wrangler tube' when introducing anemone to a new environment. For rock flowers you can use a simple python plastic tube-- after acclimation using a drip method-- pour content into a pre-positioned plastic python tube. This anemone will sink to the rock and over night take hold in that spot. You need to be realistic and observant regarding the location ( in terms of current and lighting). This works 90% of the time with rock flowers and about 75% of the time with bubble tips. With big BTA you can go to a acrylic store and get a tube wider than the standard python pick up tube.

Thanks for the help and encouragement guys. I just added him to the new tank. I have to say it looks really lifeless... no reaction to being in new water, just totally drooped hanging off the power head. I feel like if it had a chance at survival it would still look more...alive....

Just let it be, I believe still have chances for survival, remember it is injure right now let it record and she will untangle itself.
