Do you have any coralline growing in your tank? Don’t waste your time with SPS until you have a good amount of coralline growing.

I have a decent amount all over my overflows and on shaded rock

nitrate..... ZERO! how in the hell did those even get that low? I feed an entire cube of frozen every day plus pellets and nori. I don't think I've changed my GFO in about a month. I have Brightwell nitrate and phosphate, should I slowly start adding these to get my numbers up?

A single cube ? In a 180? Lol. That is nothing, I feed 6 a day in my 90, 4 in my 40b. Sometimes Lrs reef frenzy on top of that throughout the day. You need to feed a lot more.

really? ill bump that up too

I would turn off your GFO completely. I never had much luck with SPS & continuous GFO use.

Yep, my 90 is very lightly stocked, my fish are very vibrant and healthy as well as my coral.

Hi, try using amino acids. My corals were bleaching and I started using amino acids a few weeks ago. And my SPS are regaining their color back.

And my skimmer only runs for 12 hours, when the lights are off

@joe0813 I would look into borrowing a PAR meter and measuring your PAR. I run a 24" x 24" 60 gal cube with a single Radion XR30 G4 Pro on a standard 9" RMS mount and I used to have it set at 50% overall intensity.

Turns out that was not near enough par for most acros. PAR measured at like 150-180 at my highest point in the tank. I slowly began to bring up my overall intensity and set it at 95% where PAR varies from 250-400 and my acros are loving it. Now I just need these suckers to grow quicker lol.

I only test no3/po4 now to make sure no3 doesn’t drop below 10 and po4 doesn’t drop below 0.10. Even Red Sea recommends a minimum of 0.08 po4 for sps frag in their reef recipes.
I've been running 5ish maybe slightly more nitrate, and between .1-.04 phosphate for the last 2 months (tank is 6 months old). Phosphate was always in that range before that. My sps generally hung in there before I got nitrate up, but color and growth were terrible. Dosed nitrate to get it up, then fed fish food, coral, aminos to keep both in their ranges, since then color and growth have come a very long way in 2 short months. I'm convinced especially young systems need this kind of feeding/nutrients to sustain sps. Oh and I raised my xr15s intensity from 70% to 100% and lowered them from 14 inches to 9.75 inches above the water. Bunch of similarities between what I was doing/experienced and what's happening to joe in my opinion, based on the limited knowledge of his situation.

I feed twice what you feed+ coral food regularly in a red sea 350 (70 gallon display), 6 month old tank. Like I said before probably starving your corals.
