Absolutely!! They make plastic clamps. Rust is awful for a tank.SO I had these metal claps to hold my return pump to my hoses and I haven't seen great growth in my SPS do you think this could be a reason?

Mixture of dry and live rock. Also started with water out of the ocean and a cup of sand to get thing rolling. I never had a cycle in my tank.

Yeah I didn't think it would be the issue either. May be low levels of nutrients. My N03 I can't get about 2-3 and PO4 stays around 1.0. I do 10% water changes every week to replace any trace elements.
100% half my rock is from mature systems ive got from other reefers.
That still doesn't mean your 4 month old tank is ready for SPS...
Aminos or ammonia dosing wouldn’t hurt… I personally like to see around 10 on my n03… what do you have for lighting and flow?
If you typed that correctly 1.0 PO4 could be the issue. The value should be more like 0.05 - 0.2 ideal would be around around 0.1
Probably not enough corrosion to create a toxic level of metals. This is probably stainless steel which is iron, chromium snd nickel. Iron is not a problem, but chromium (18%) and nickel (10%) could be. Unless these were sitting in the water, the corrosion products stayed mostly where you see them.
