I feel like this was causing problems in my tank.

I have an anti Stanton that peaks at around 80% and 2 mp40s. I have one mp40 hitting the SPS side of the tank pretty good.

I understand they take a hot min to grow. I have a green slime and its been in the tank for 1.5 months and I just thought it may show a ,little more encrusting in that time. My zoos in the other hand are multiplying like crazy.

on a side note: the zip ties we use at work has a metal retainer in the end of it. If are really concerned about metal in the tank, make sure you look at the clip end of your zip tie to make sure it has no metal in it.

When it comes to SPS the difference between growing and killing corals can be very minute. The diference between "growing" and "keeping" even less. There are many things at play in a young tank that cannot be controlled or even tested for even when starting with "mature" rocks. Just focus on keeping the water parameters that you can test and control stable, and the rest will work itself out. If you keep the water parameters stable and correct for growing SPS one day out of the blue you are gonna walk up to that tank and wonder when that slimer got so big.

You are right im rushing it! Mainly I'm just wondering what else I can do to help the corals out to grow.

I know how it is I was the same way a year ago when I came back from many years away. I wanted to rapid pace it back to where I was when I quit back in the day. Turns out that just like back then there are no products available to replace time and patience.
