Like I said, scat mats work great.
I've always had cats and aquariums and it is a pita to keep them off the tops and hoods.
At least until I found scatmats. They work great, and they don't hurt that cat.
I just got a new kitten who was determined to crawl back behind my TV stand where there are a ton of wires.
I pulled out a small one and set it at the lowest setting and it took 2 hits, but now the kitten doesn't even look that way.

Once they learn, it sticks with them.

Maybe get a heat blanket for the cat. haha he might just be cold. Very funny thread, though.

I use contact paper sticky side up. Sticky enough to startle cat but doesn't remove fur. We put a stool next to tank so our one cat who loved watching the fish could have a safe spot.

Waiting for our live aquaria order to get here

cute kitties!! I don't see any of them on the tanks!

I put tinfoil up.. doubt it'll deter him. I want to get that mat that goes with office chairs with the pointy nubs. I'll cut that to size. that should do the trick.

Not the friendliest idea, but my parents got fed up with their cats on their freshwater tanks, so they put those mats for chairs with wheels on carpet upside down on top of the tank. Cats jumped on the spikey things once and they never did it again. Didn't really hurt the cats, just startled them. Sort of the same reaction as when they met our hedgehog the first time.

Did you name your hedgehog "Dinsdale"?

I also have a fat boy, and he's less graceful as he gets older and wider...

Luckily he's never tried to get on the aquariums yet
