For me its not what I see, but what I hear - the sound of my secondary drain gurgling because a snail or hermit crawled into the main drain and restricted flow. This requires me to stop whatever I’m doing, run all the way to the basement and adjust the valve. Inevitably, the offending invert will move out an hour later and require another adjustment. And it always happens just as I’m getting ready for bed or in the middle of a movie late at night. I am afraid to put a strainer on due to the possibility of algae/debris clogging it… Currently building an arduino controlled stepper motor to allow me to adjust the valve remotely on my phone!

Also, frags in the sand or serving as headgear for my urchin!

No grumpiness, but sometimes a little disappointment. The good and bad are normal for me. I just try to make the good things outweigh the bad. But all a part of reefing, imo. It’s not a portrait, it’s an ecosystem that requires daily care.
