Sooo... lots to update.
The Move:
The day before I was going to move everything my 60 cube sprung a leak... I couldn’t believe it. I used a styrofoam box, and a large plastic bag some fish came in to move everything.
I picked each spire up, put it in plastic with no water, and drove it over and put it in the new tank. Temp was the only thing I was sure was in line. Each trip (3) a fish would jump out of the rocks halfway to the new house and I would try to put them in a corner with the most water.
all fish made the move. I have not seen my mandarin Goby since though and is my only loss to the move. All corals came out fine.
Setup:
everything is still not setup the way it should be. Took almost a month to get the AWC on schedule. I added a good number of fish. A few have died, but for the most part everyone is happy.
I am super happy with all my equipment and glad I spent the money on nice things.
I am in love with my trigger platinum sump. It works perfectly. I am also in love with my aqua duo skimmer. This thing is a beast!!!!!
so far 1 month in and not 1 single algae problem. I even dumped 3/4 of my Neptune auto feeder in the water setting it up. Left for the weekend and expected to come home to something unmanageable. Instead I just came home to some super thick nasty skin mate.
I had a five before but until I see some nutrient issues I’m holding off. All myGHA from the old tank is gone. Some bubble algae showed up out of nowhere on my clam. I scrubbed it off, and the next day WITNESSED one of my hermit crabs polishing off the few I missed.
all my corals are happy and loving it! Everyone is healthy and growing. I have been dozing easy reefs spa gel stuff and it’s amazing.
My issues:
my mystery wrasse is being a real butt head to my orange spot goby. I started with two and one died and it is just bullying the one left non stop. I plan on catching it and removing it.
I finally got my trident hooked up and can not believe the amount of all being consumed. Doing a 30 gallon water change right now to bring it up a bit. I have ordered a calcium reactor and all the fixings that will arrive next week and get going.
I have two monti’s with someSTN on a spire and I’m not sure what’s going on, but you win some and loose some.
I would like to brighten the kessil, buteverything is growing, and coloring up so well. I am going to wait a while longer. My goal was to peak them around 70 percent.
