I have a 1200$ budget

Our local club has a new build contest with $1000 limit in the year. We do this as a fun way to show reefers how to be on a budget... used equipment, small tanks, cheap frags, etc. My entry is linked in my signature, but here are the others if you want to read. We started in May, so some of them are starting to take shape.. These can also show you how patience will be before you see results.

We do live around Denver, so there is a large population of people to buy stuff from Craigs List and stuff. We are not allowed to sell extra stuff that we buy in "packages," but you could if you buy used stuff and don't need all of it.

Zoa Addicts Anonymous

Are you a zoa hoarder/freak/addict/collector? Well this is a group of folk just like you!!!! This will be a space we can trade frags, participate in grow out buys, do group buys on zoas from other collectors out of state and show off any new zoas we get.

That’s a cool little contest if I ever get a bigger house I want to do a 1k tank challenge for a year. I think it’s pretty easy w/o budgeting for consumables but with consumables like salt carbon and test kits it would be hard to do

I don’t test, and depending on the size of the tank, you could survive on one box of IO on-sale, for a whole year

Salt counts against our total - $40 box of IO and I will have some left over on the year. Salifert alk test kit is like $12 or most LFS will test it for free.

you get a tank yet? I live in youngstown Ohio 1: 30 min from cleveland I am sellingg a 75 gal tank canopy, glass top and stand. It is set up right now set up for fresh water would just need cleaned/ sterilized the good thing is it’s an old school tank 1/2” glass and Can be drilled for overflow and return. Have a lot of stuff for it but most is for fresh water hang on eshopps overflow, wet dry sump return canister filter. if you think you are interested will make you a heck of a deal getting out of freshwater.
