Hello! I'm new to R2R and also new to saltwater aquariums! I'm 47 and have 1 child. His name is Cameron. He actually is the aquarium person in the house. He will be making most of the threads! Now he will be typing;
Hi! I'm Cameron. I, 11 years old and have experience with freshwater aquariums. I'm looking into saltwater aquariums (so is my dad) I did lots of research and decided to do an all in one tank. I would like it to have decent lighting to grow some soft corals ( but not for awhile). Any ideas for the type of tank, setup, size, and where to put it? Here is a pic of my room: image.jpg By the way, who went to reef a paloosa NYC! I saw the R2R table and entered in their raffle!:)

Welcome to R2R, there is not much room for a tank other than where the freshwater tank is. Get familiar with the sponsor here, follow build threads in the nano section. See what other people are doing and copy success. When you are going to buy equipment ask first here so you can get some opinions. Take your time , it can take up to 6 months of putting the tank together and running it on autolpilot before it starts to be successful. Happy reefing

Thanks for the advice! I was looking to move a few things like moving the desk towards my bed ( in the pic I was standing on it) and moving the shelf thing to the right more. That will leave me with a decent amount of space in the corner.

Welcome home, you will love it here!

Keep us posted with your build!

Btw a 75 is a good starter size if you want to start "large" otherwise a 54 Bow is a good choice. Any cube will do for starters as well! :)

Welcome to R2R! I am partial to the jbj 45. One of the Innovative Marine might also be good. I have a fluval evo 13.5 but that might be a little tough for a first tank.

Welcome to R2R!!! Great choice to switch over. Let me know when you're ready and I'll send you some cool zoas and mushrooms.
In answer to your question, take a look at the Innovative Marine AIO tanks.
I'm not going to do this any time soon, but will try to start in late summer to early fall and not add fish to march of 2018 and not get corals till the next reef a paloosa. ( I'm going to add a cleanup crew though). I'm trying to do as much research as possible!
Edit: well maybe early August....

I was thinking about a biocube 29 but I found out that the lighting Is not vary good, can I possibly upgrade the lights when I get it?

I found a 10k floresent lamp on amazon for a biocube 29 for $26.50. Should I get the 28
watt, 36 watt, or 64 watt. I only want some softies and maybe some LPS corals. I really want them to be maxed out on color. Oh and how do you feed corals?
