Yep. Mg is definitely low. I think that it's most likely the mangroves taking up all the Mag. Just my guess, but I've read where they tend to do that.

Is the 75 gallon full of mangroves or just partly full or what?

I have 16 mangroves in it some have 8 or so leaves on them my ca is low too i'm off to the lfs to get some emergency supliments and ive already started water for a wc

Sounds like a plan. Just don't do anything too quickly. You could end up with an algae bloom.

Even with the mangroves, I'd be surprised if the magnesium is really that low. Try the kit on some new salt water before making any changes.

I've be quite surprised if the magnesium is really that low. It would take a very long time of no additions to deplete it that much, unless you got a rare off batch. Try the kit on some new salt water before making any changes.

just checked my tds its 0 the first sample said 12 but i thought i may not have rinsed the cup out well enough so i took another it was 4 so i took a 3rd and it read 0

Do the mangrove leaves drip salt outside the tank? I think that's really the only way they take out large amounts of magnesium..

i wanted to be sure so i took a water sample with me they tested it at 1050 mg 260 ca so were very close

OK, so I'd certainly look to raise them. I'd boost the magnesium 25 ppm per day until it gets to about 1300 ppm using magnesium chloride or a 10:1 mix of magnesium chloride to magnesium sulfate. Boost the calcium by 25 ppm per day using calcium chloride.

here's an update have ca up to 335 mg up to 1125 and best news of all the kh is down to 7.5 hopefully this means things are growing again the p.e. is a little better and my purple haze monti that was having stn has stopped shedding skin
