I have the same sump just add more water
Ok about to add the water.. thanks everyone for helping me out. I will let you guys knowSalt water, until you get to the desired water level and then RO/DI to replace evaporated water to keep the level constant.
Crap I didn't think of that.. well hopefully I won't have to choose either my pump working correctly or worrying about a flood.. does anyone know what surge protector is the best to use with saltwater? I mean I know nothing is fool proof but I swear somewhere on here I saw a water friendly one.. lolMake sure when you turn everything off, the water in the sump does not overflow or you will have a flood during power outage.

+1 on this recommendation. Very nice unit.I use the monster power platinum 800 8 outlet suge protector.
I have been with the forum for 2 or so years and honestly don't know what I would do without everyone hereVery cool that everybody helped walk you through itThe support here is amazing.
You live so close you should come help lol I'm just kidding.. and yes you know the struggle.. I can't wait either.. I need a template for my guild threadSorry I am late to the party! I think it is great that you are finally getting your dream system up and running. I know it has been a struggle getting to this point.
Your sump will have plenty of volume in the event of a power failure. Never hurts to test it but I would be shocked if you have a problem. Just turn your pump off and see what happens. I doubt you will get close to the top edge in any compartment.
+1 on this recommendation. Very nice unit.
That said, the installation is much more important the the surge protector used. If possible, hang it upside down so you have to push up on the plugs to plug them in. This forces you to use a drip loop and if water does get in it falls right back out. If you cant do that, hang it sideways. The worst thing to do is lay them flat on the ground.
Can't wait to see your build thread!
hint hintThank you@Brew12 can probably answer that. Helped me with a few pieces of equipment as well.
I don't know why I didn't tag him in the first place lol
I did until my bubble got burst with watch out lolDid you do the YES! Happy dance when it worked?![]()
I sleep lol but I work crazy hours so I was up and down last nightI think that skimmer requires a fairly narrow optimum water level range, like between 7.5"min to 8"max. I would make sure your sump water level stays within that range, so your skimmer will work as intended. Set your float switch on your ATO to keep it topped off and running at that level.
BTW, when do you sleep?![]()
