I just can't get it right..

You live so close you should come help
If it were a little closer I would! Then again, I think you are learning more by working through your issues than you ever would have if someone came and did it for you.

and yes you know the struggle
I did see your thread in the vendor reviews. I was thinking about buying a 180-wide from them but now I am second thinking that. They made the tanks for Battlecorals new setup which made me want to trust them. But now?

Yea they did a huntsville store.. actually two of them and screwed them.. I have one of the frag tanks that one of the stores got screwed on.. please Dear God don't put yourself through what I did

What tank manufacturer did you end up going with? When will we see pics of the setup? :)

Planet aquariums and soon:)
Part of their ownership is from the old Oceanic manufacturer, I believe. I have seen some of their work first hand and you will have a very nice tank.

A sneak peak

Mine is 72x18x16 it's custom
My current system is 72"x18"x20" and I really wish I had the extra depth. Really is an impressive tank size though, I think you will love yours!

Really like the dimensions of that tank!

Thanks guys.. I should have added a couple inches and made it a 72x20x16 I love the low profile. I didn't like they put black vinyl on the back but I can always peel it off.. I'm in love with it other than trying to figure out how to mount my center light. I bought the extended arm for my Kessil from brs and it won't work either because of my plumbing..

I know you already have the mounting arms, but do you think you might like the lights hanging from the ceiling (if that is even possible where the tank is)? If that isn't an option, maybe mount a rail (the length of the tank) on the wall behind the tank? Then you could clamp the mounts to the rail. Just throwing out ideas.

I may have to do a mounting rail.. it sucks because I have bought all of these and I will have to find someone to make me one for the length of the tank. The ceiling isn't a option cause I have cathedral ceilings and they slope and I would rather not put holes in my ceiling ...

I was hoping someone knew how I could make the mount go out and then up and back out again so I could go around the plumbing

Someone may come up with a better idea. I really haven't ever used the tank mount brackets. Just sharing what first popped into my head.

What about adding another Kessil mount on the other side of the synergy overflow and running bar stock across the top connecting the two mounts. Then you could drill a hole in the middle of the bar stock to attach the light.

I have been meaning to start a build thread but in the meantime..
I've been meaning to follow your build thread but in the meantime... ;)

How is the new aquarium going?
