I thought I had my mind set on the vertex omega 150, but now I keep reading about numerous people having issues tuning them. Are these that much of a a hassle to dial in?

Avast Marine. The Sicce PSK-1000 pump they use is easily found. The numbered adjustment dial is great since you can set your skimmer water level consistently every time. You can also build it yourself, save some cash, and learn how a protein skimmer is put together. Remember when purchasing a skimmer if it's impossible to find replacement parts don't buy it.

I have decided to go with the SRO-2000INT. Every Skimmer I researched had mixed reviews and opinions(as expected). However, from what I've read, the most positive vs negative reviews is definitely the reef octopus skimmers. A lot of happy owners. The super reef octopus models just seemed to me like the tried and true non-fancy solid skimmers that a lot of people have been using for years.

For anyone looking for a skimmer, my Reef Octopus SRO-2000INT has been running for about 2 weeks now. Best skimmer I've owned so far. What a difference in foam production. Wow. And it's only been 2 weeks. Barely a break in period. This thing just went right to work the second I plugged it in. It's in about 6.75 inches depth. Thanks for all the suggestions guys
