I Received a NEW Trident NP Nitrate & Phosphate Tester!!!!

What AOS are you running?

v5.12 7D24

Just got home form vacation and ran the update. First scheduled test is tomorrow afternoon. Decimal got moved over from .04 to now .42. Did everyone's correct itself after the next test?

First post update test results: NP = 15.8 NO3. / .07 PO4 vs Hanna 15.3 N03 / .19 PO4. Hopefully PO4 tightens up over the next few tests

Mine has been running flawlessly for 2 months now. Been testing in the .05-.07 range consistently. Today, it jumped up to .7 and I panicked, ran home from dinner to do manual Hanna test and sure enough, I'm still in the .07 range. Re-running the lengthy NP test now and hope it resolves back to the expected .07. There's no mention of this bug in the Facebook forum so I'm glad I found this!

Mine is comically off. Hopefully they fix it. It’s saying I’m having NO3 fluctuations 20 ppm in each direction and PO4 is zero and it’s not. My actual NO3 is 18.7 and my PO4 is .05. Maybe one of these days they will reply to my ticket.

After the software update, factory update and reset, mine is now working fine again. Super odd how that happened after working great for 2 months but now back in action!

This machine doesn’t work, if phosphate passes the 0.09 mark - for example your hanna reads a phosphate of 0.17 the Neptune will read like a 0.07

I been observing this for months and half now

If you hanna reads po4 0.07 then the neptune will read po4 inclusive exact like 0.06 for example
But if you have a spike of po4 under hanna reading, example po4 0.19, neptune will read po4 of 0.07
It happens all the time

i have the 2016 pro version contacted neptune as i read other apex users with 2016 controllers are crashing there system when updating for the trident np i was told by neptune that needed to upgrade to the a3 wish they only sold the brain i woldnt be hessistant to buy but they do not makes no sense for me to purchase a whole unit at over 1k just to have the np looking at the hydros for a new controller and get rid of my apex

Just to confirm I’m not missing something, what is the “factory update”? I updated the software and while closer to the Hanna, it’s still about .10 off…. I was planning on doing the factory reset when it it’s time to change reagents and see what happens.

Same story here. I’m a week or so (post update) with NP .1 low from Hanna on po4. NP barely registers a spike with .01 uptick

WARNING: This is NOT READY for prime time!

I am glad to hear others have had success. I have yet to achieve the same. I have mine connected to A2 Apex and have updated both Apex and Trident NP software. I then re-primed all lines, reset all options, performed calibration, enabled factory defaults, and restarted the Trident, but I still have issues with PO4. Nitrate readings seem reasonably accurate.

Is this the same result after repeated tests? Many here are seeing that after the first test which is speculated to incorrectly place the decimal, it has been accurate thereafter.

So I’m pretty sure this is wrong. I thought the PO4 range was only 0-2ppm? Interesting…..

I just hooked everything just like the video stated. I had it run a test and this was the result. I used a Hanna checker about 5 hours ago with a reading of .03 ppm.

I haven’t looked into the costs of running and maintaining one of these. It sounds like the accuracy isn’t great. It might be easier and even cost effective to send ICP testing periodically if you want to track these parameters?

You would quickly come up against the cost of a Trident NP if you were to use ICP testing to track nitrates and phosphates….

After updating my Apex to the latest firmware/software version, my numbers are finally inline with my Hannah tests. Hopefully the numbers settle for those seeing sudden spikes…

Did you also do a factory reset? I performed the apex and NP updates and mine is still testing around .09-.1 off from my Hanna.

If you have for some reason a spike in Po4 like .14 for example, the neptune will not register it
Is happening all the time, people who say that the neptune is finally working is because they have the phosphate in check under 0.08ppm, as soon hanna reads a spike, neptune NP will read like nothing is happening beautiful numbers like: 0.05, 0.06,
This machine doesn’t work I been using it for 2 months now
Really untrusted machine
