yeah never take medical or legal advice on the forums, go back to the doc and ask for an Infectious Disease MD, tell them you have been working in marine systems. You need someone who actually has a degree in medicine, practices medicine, a professional that can visually examine the area.

If you suspect palytoxin poisoning I would def try to find a medical center nearby that is familiar with treating it. Most of the people I know who have been effected, found that their regular doctor knew little about it, misdiagnosed it and then ended up very sick. Worse case scenario is when someone is using a wet-saw and inhales tissue into the lungs. A situation like yours though, is nothing to scoff out. Once the poison enters the bloodstream it can become very serious.

Palytoxin poisoning starts out with flu like symptoms and can progress to muscle spasms, difficulty breathing, and potentially death. Again, if you had palytoxin poisoning, you wouldn't just have a swollen finger. You'd feel sick and/or be heading to the E.R.

Guarantee it's bacterial. No need to go back to the doc unless your finger is still swollen after a few days and/or if it starts turning any funky colors.

You feel a Lil sick , then you feel like your dying , the pain is excruciating and your muscles feel like their ripping themselves off the bone, if that's not a fun trip on its own, most likely their gonna think your on drugs when you go in so bring a reef bud to explain to the cops that you keep these toxins as pets

I'm betting you got a bacterial those can be pretty bad too ide go back in and ask for another opinion or two. Good luck!!!

Does sound like sepsis. Im an RN. You really need to go to the er. More than likely you will recieve a strong dose of antibotics via an IV drip. Then be prescribed another round of oral. This is nothing to wait on for sure. It can be lethal if not ttrated promptly.

I did something similar where I had a bad hang nail on my thumb I pulled and then was cleaning my tank. It got infected and swelled up really bad. Got all nasty. Went to my uncle who's a podiatrist, figured toes and fingers can't be much different. He cut my nail off and then had to cut out the infected flesh, put me on an antibiotics also. He said it really looked similar to Staff infection. You need to explain to the doctor and also see about getting on an antibiotic. Amazingly it felt extremely better immediately after he cut it all out. Obviously it was all shot up with numbing stuff, so I didn't feel a thing. But even after the numbing wore off, it felt so much better. Completely grew back and now I'm just always careful to never put my hands in my tank with any kind of open wound, even something small can turn into a big problem.

You have a serious infection. Not palyotoxin.
You need an injection of antibiotics NOW.
Then Duricef 500 mg . Twice a day for 10 days!

this will be my fourth bag of iv antibiotics in two days plus i was on pills before i went to hospital but they didn't work.

iv tastes bad. before i went to hospital i was using keflex or something like that
