I'm a mechanic myself and I believe we could possibly build up an immunity to some things as I've cut myself a lot and have been lucky they say if you expose yourself to different bacterias you can build up an immunity to them how true that is I don't know but very rarely do I get anything on my hands infection wise that a good squeeze and clear out don't sort.Being a mechanic, I always have some sort of cut, scratch or a bug bite. And I can't stay out of the tank. Bad combination. In my experience with all the different bacteria and such in the tank. I keep "Ichthamol Ointment" on hand. AKA "drawing salve" I have used it on every infection with great results. Just my experience. I am ONLY sharing what I have used, and still use. Glad you got the help you needed. And you'll be back at it soon! Reef-On!

The 1st thing w/palytoxin is a heavy metallic taste in your mouth then it turns like a psychedelic trip for a brief period...IME x2
Saltwater has more harmful bacteria than your toilet! I would believe bacterial/viral infection to be the culprit
