I really appreciate all the inputs/ideas, sorry I haven't gotten back quickly something else unfortunate came up. I will try to follow up soon on all the questions asked to help you help me! As an update the tank is looking beautiful after a few days. Water is clear and brown film on sand and glass is slowing down big time. I can't pin it on anything yet without testing, but at least I am feeling happy.
I'm intrigued by the idea of too much MarinePure blocks. I can see how this might be causing ultra low nutrients. I don't understand how that would cause a cloudy water bacteria bloom. Not saying it isn't the cause of a bacteria bloom, just that I don't understand the mechanism. I'm open to trying removal of them. I am feeding mostly pellets (Crossover and Hikari Seaweed extreme), some Mysis 1-2 times a week. I have noticed my fish getting more aggressive at feeding time and competing so I will up the feeding amounts which might help low nutrients. I will go slow with changes and try to get back with more info soon.
