They need the nori along with other foods. I make my own food for my fish and my tangs eat every bit of it along with the nori. There are a few brands of frozen food out there that are good food and some even lean more towards herbivores in some of their products.

I am curious... my LFS guy... this is the first fish I didn’t buy from him... is it possible he was mad I bought from a different store?

Fish looks overall healthy. I think a little bacterial but more vitamin deficiency. Step up the diet.
At minimum feed with garlic and vitamins added:
Seaweed/nori
LRS Herbivore diet
Formula 2 frozen and flake
Sm Mysis shrimp
Plankton
Spirulina brine shrimp

There are soooo many fish diseases and almost impossible to get a fish that isn't carrying something. The LFS may have something in the water that suppresses the disease so that the fish stays healthy and eats until you buy. Then you bring a ticking time bomb home to put in your main display with everything else you have. This is why a lot of people quarantine for a month or two before letting anything go in the display for the sake of the new fish and the existing fish. Adding a fish is a huge deal if being very careful. Quarantining is more work and it sucks but nobody is doing it for fun.
Fish diseases are not that interesting of a topic but part of the hobby. There are many videos on youtube to learn about all of the different diseases and what can cure them. Most require removing the affected fish and treating. Some diseases a fish can live with if fed a healthy diet. Some can wipe a tank out overnight without medicinal treatments. There are many medications to keep on hand along with a QT tank for these situations. Usually better to QT before adding the fish than after. Many people do this even if the fish appears completely healthy when purchased because not everything shows up right away and low levels of copper in store water can suppress the disease without affecting the fish negatively. This doesn't mean the water at the store cured anything.

I’ve learned more from being wrong than I have ever learned from being right.... I think I just learned why I need to set up a quarantine tank...

I am curious... you make your own...?

I’ve been going to quite a few LFS’s in my area. I see a lot of them “squirting food” from a plastics bottle. Are they just mixing up something like the food supply suggested in this thread (quite possibly by you : ) into a single bottles?

Normally they mix foods of different types, vitamin supplements and such into a single container. They then feed the mix to all tanks. As for it being my food, nope lol. Only my fish get my food.

No LFS should ever be petty like that. I imagine it was out of genuine concern for this fish and the rest of the fish in the tank. We've all heard the horror story of a guy adding a new fish and velvet wiping out a tank in 48 hours. I'm sure he was just erring on the side of caution and observation

5 of them get along great! One of them stays by himself all the time. I have not seen any aggression from them so far

I dont see anything alarming here at all. I would continue to observe and give a good diet.

The post above by @vetteguy53081 is a great start for foods to try. I use alot of what was listed there. Variety is key. I like to mix several foods together in a jar, give it a good shake after it thaws and add to tank. I thaw more than needed for one feeding and distribute throughout the day, little by little.
