So I just got my copper and butterfly two days ago and noticed some white spots on his fin and he’s been rubbing against rocks... please help I don’t want to take the fish out and quarantine I do have corals please help. I heard of some home remedies like mixing garlic with their food helps but I need some input please

If you won't quarantine (which you really should consider), there are some things out there you can try. Ruby Reef makes a product and so does Polyp Labs. Reviews are mixed on them, and you may not see any improvement. You need to get on it before it really gets out of hand.

Here’s a good read for this

There are no reef safe options...

you can manage ich, check this for more info:

QT with TTM, Hypo or Copper.
DT 72-76 days fishless.
Nothing else works
Period.

fallow period is up for debate. I’ve done a 6 week fallow period and been fine others have done 8weeks+ and have had it return. 72-76 is guaranteed to work but you could do as little as 6 and still be fine

agree with the QT methods

Has anyone ever heard of metroplex and focus combo seachem for ich???

The only thing open for debate regarding fallow periods is whether you want to rid the tank of ich or practice Ich management. That is an individual choice.

The length of fallow is 76 days. That's the maximum length ich can live fallow. It is likely that in any given tank a particular strain may die out sooner but there is no way to determine how much sooner so we must fallow 76 days to know it is successful.

There are no reef safe treatments for ich at this time. Any curremt treatment claiming to eradicate Ich in a reef is snake oil.

There are products that may help fish cope with ich and could be useful in a reef tank that is practicing ich management.

I hear y’all but hey I just been feeding my fish smashed fresh garlic with their food and the ich spots went away but I also was told to not add fish to the tank for about a month and half and I guess I’ll not add any fish except corals what do y’all think

Yeaa well I might not buy it because looks like the ich issue is going away with feeding garlic
It isn't going away. It's the life cycle. They just dropped off to multiply. You will have ich unless you kill it with ttm, copper, or hypo. They will always have it, but might not always show it

So if I just let my fish heal from ich by using metroplex and focus and feeding garlic with their food, and lets say I don’t buy any fish for like two months... the ich doesn’t have a host so won’t it die off since they dropped off the fish??

Tony, don't be obtuse just for the sake of trying to convince yourself that you have eliminated ich from your tank. Believe you me.. it is there, even if you don't see it.

Metroplex, focus, and garlic will do NOTHING for ich. ABSOLUTELY nothing.

But hey, its 2019 so you are welcome to come up with your own "alternate facts" where your fish are fine and they are not suffering from ich because you gave them garlic and antibiotics. Sorry if it is harsh, but people pointed you towards detailed threads about ich but here you are, asking if it will just go away on its own.

I hear ya I just wanna understand because it is my first time with saltwater I’ve had freshwater. Guess I’m going to have to set up a qt tank....
