Hello I just lost my 3rd fish. An Evansi anthia. My first clown fish and a Phillipino. Tang. My parameters are good. Temp. 80. Salinity. 1.025. Is this just normal. My fiancé is getting more and more devestated with each loss and I’m new so I didn’t even know about QT when I started. Tank is 5/6 months old. Is there anything I can do other than heavy fees. I used kick ick today for the first time. I’m so burnt. I want to save these guys. Now my yellow tang has it and I know there is no magical cure that isn’t QT but anyone have any tips on how to make it through. Thanks.

I dont favor Kich ich although Ruby makes great product. Pics under white light would be helpful to confirm ich. Temp is slightly high but nothing dangerous to cause death.
Quarantiine is your best bet, I recommend copersafe especially with tang and Anthias and it is Essential to have a reliable copper test kits to monitor copper levels which will be 2.25-2.5ppm
When treating with any medication, increase oxygen with use of air stone.
I assume you have QT Tank ?
Also what test kits are you using and what is your:
Ammonia
ph
nitrate

I don’t have a QT tank. Until now I didn’t even realize they were needed in this hobby I went in blind and I don’t recommend doing so to anyone. I have a 5 gallon emergency tank that I bought copper and a hang on back filter that will be here Friday. Does anyone know how to do a copper bath without killing my inverts and coral?

Testing kit is API other than a Hannah alk and digital salinty reader. I have a sticker for ammonia. Ammonia-0 Nitrite-0 PH7.9 ALk 165. Nitrate 3-5. Phosphate is good. I’m determined to get through this. The tank looks great here are some pics.

Here are some pics of the affected fish. Thank you

You need a UV sterilizer. Also, those fish look starved to death. A UV will eradicate Ich.

Thank you I feed them 3 cubes of frozen with a 1/3 nori sheet every days is that to little. What would u say?

Jay hemdals current diesese protocol 2021.

I often see jay say that once a diesese/ parasites gets to stage where its killed a fish then get remaining fish into qt tank asap and dont ramp up copper slowly.as takes 3 days for copper to be therapeutic but a 5 gallon tank im thinking is to small to house all your fish at once and medicate the qt tank and important need run your display tank " fallow" ( without fish ) for 76 days at normal temperature or 45 days at 81 degrees then when the fallow is up and you have medicated all fish and no visible signs of any diesese/ parasites then put fish back in dt.

I'm no expert but maybe list the fish you have, reason being some fish don't do so good in copper so give the experts a heads up on how best to advise you.vetteguy knows what he's on about along with jay hemdal and some others.

Good luck with your fishy friends and try not to panic but act as fast as you can

It wont eradicate it but it will keep it under control and may help keep it at a level that it doesnt effect the fish.

I would qt using humblefish method with copper and then go fallow for (i forget how long off the top of my head), but a qt is a good method to try if qt isnt possible. Buy a good unit though as something like a green killing machine UV wont help at all. Pentair and Aqua UV are great units just need to follow the guidelines

It will eradicate the Ich that lives in the sandbed. That Ich is what keeps populating and kills livestock. Yes, you will never get ALL of the ich out of the system and it may still live on the fish, but to control it a UV will definitely cut that down and get rid of your ich to the point of it not being a problem.

API notorious for false readings which I suspected and numbers likely higher. Ammonia badge rendered useless as it is also for freshwater and rarely accurate. I would highly suggest to take a water sample to a trusted LFSthat does NOT use API kits and see what readings they come up with.
I try not to recommend this step for ich as it is regarded as gamble , but with NO quarantine you can use a Combination of Polyp Lab Medic along with Ruby Rally pro for treatment. treat for 10 days. I was able to beat a serious outbreak with this combo which is reef safe. MEDIC is peroxide salts but does work. Also aerate with treatment

100% agreed there they usually work wonders

Btw don't need use a glass or acrylic tank for qt tank .it can be 5 gallon buckets or one large food safe tote, just need heater and flow or a airstone at minumum but keep check on amnonia.if me I would be buying a better amnonia tester than you have at moment .

Umm just re-read your post above and you say you have amnonia sticker? Do you mean seachem amnonia alert badge?

I would add in a variety and I think cubes and nori are fine. I would add some pellets as well. That seems like a few larger fish and may need a bit more food. Don't get too discouraged, we have all been through these problems.

I have about 16 fish. A few months ago I overfed them so much I killed my coral. I listens to my LFS and fed them accordingly but I thought it was light. Any recommendations today I fed them 4 cubes. For feeding that will make sure they are ok without spiking ammonia.

i just either use LRS reef frenzy (best all around staple food imo) and some dry brs pellets as well. Other foods get mixed in sometimes but those are the staples. Oh and i dose phyto at night for the copepods
