Ich in my DT?

Swiming into the powerhead sounds more like velvet from what ive heard from some experts and hearing tangs involved watch that dosage closely on the copper as tangs are sensitive to copper treatments as i have read

Well, I have learned a valuable lesson. The kole tang and sailfin tang are dead. my plan today is to move them all to a 5g bucket of fresh saltwater. Then, take out 100% of the water. Next, I will put in 20-30g of fresh saltwater, and move the fish in. Finally, I will prepare the other 20-30g of ro water by heating it up and mixing the salt in.

Bummer, yeah the two don't mix well unfortunately. Sorry to hear that. :(

I'm sorry for your losses. Velvet is literally the worst and ich on top of it is just a nightmare. Hopefully things improve with your other guys.

Alright, I took out 100% of the water. Now I have them in a 60% full tank. Just waiting on the RO water to heat up so I can put some salt in. When ever that is done, I will be filling the tank up the rest of the way, and putting the copper in. Our bluejaw trigger looks like he is doing fine (that is the one Jordyn was most worried about.)

Apart from that, I plan to leave them in copper for two weeks. I am kind of worried about doing water changes and bringing the copper down too much.

So, all I do is put some salt water in my change container and dose copper into it. Do I need to wait a certain amount of time before I test it to see if it therapeutic? Also, how often should I need to do water changes and how much at a time?

Sounds like a plan for the most part. Unless you have a second sterile QT tank, you will want to keep the fish in therapeutic copper for 30 days straight. The 14 day plan only works if you are using 2 tanks. Copper only kills the free swimming stage (dinospores). So the 30 days is needed to make sure all trophonts have fallen off the fish, and entered the reproductive stages (tomonts) releasing free swimmers which die instantly upon being released in therapuetic copper. This is what keeps the fish from being re-infected and breaks the cycle.

Yes it is very important to pre-dose your WC water to the therapuetic level before placing it in the tank with the fish.

I do 100% WCs during copper. I keep the fish in a bucket of tank water during the process to make sure they are never exposed to fluctuations in Cu level.

Your WC schedule will depend on your biofilter and water quality. If you encounter ammonia, change immediately upon any detectable amount.

I have tested copper level within 60 seconds of dosing, and maintained accurate readings (in QT with circulation).

Alright, the fish are in .5-.6 mg/L of Cupramine. I not noticed this morning one of the damsels has pop-eye. It is his left eye, it it is not cloudy at all. So, I assume it was injured by another damsel. He is just hiding behind the heat now. What do you guys think?

The temp is currently at 76 and the ammonia badge is showing safe.

Popeye sounds like bacterial infection is present better get some maracyn or pimafix marine remove him into a seperate qt because i am unsure if you can mix the copper treatment for parasites with the bacterial treatment goodluck popeye suck hopefully she dont loose her sight [emoji853]

One eye is usually sign of injury not disease. Can treat the fish with epsom salts in the DT or QT. 1 tablespoon of regular USP Epsom Salts per 5 gallons of tank water will help reduce the swelling. You can treat again after a couple of days.

There are seven damsels total, and they like to establish picking order. I will just leave her for now since they are a day into copper. Hopefully, she will just hide for a few days and let the swelling go down.
