I would soak a sponge filter in some bacteria in a bottle for a couple days, then add it to your HOB filter. Watch your badge if you remove the polyfilter, because ammonia is going to creep up. Your polyfilter is keeping it low now.

It may be a better idea to wait to start treatment until you have a sponge seeded, because I think that tank looks small for that fish and no bacteria will cause problems.

Shoot, I just test my Qtank it has ammonia but the ammonia alert badge didn’t show any
Does copper kill the bacteria

The badges take a few hours to adjust to the water in your tank. Place the badge about half way down the tank side. You want it away from the bright aquarium lights. To get an accurate read of the badge, illuminate it from behind with a flashlight. That way you will see the true colors on the badge.

What kind of filter are you using on your QT? I've found that it works the best to seed the filter media with something like BioSpira or Dr. Tims as Josh posted above. A foam filter and ceramic material (Biomax by Fluval) in a mesh bag in my filter both having been seeded with BioSpira/Dr. Tims. Really works well.

I use the Aquaclear 50 from the frag tank with two piece of poly filter in side . I’m going to remove the it since it absorbed copper

always quarantine longer than a day. It must be done for a certain time to insure that the ich is gone

Nice. I have several of them for my tanks. Huge fan of those filters. Foam + mesh bag with Biomax, soaked in BioSpira is the hot setup. Right now I have 6 fish in a 20QT and I never have to change water because of ammonia - and I feed them a lot of frozen food (Anthia, puffer, wrasse, damsels) they eat like pigs. I do a 5 gal water change once every 5-6 days to keep it fresh. And that's it.

How long do you soaked with biospira before put it into Qtank

In an emergency, I soak for a couple of hours; normally I soak over night. But I also keep an extra foam pad and an extra foam bubbler pad floating in my sump under my tank at all times.

You can clean the Aquaclear with bleach (for bio-film), rinse, rinse, rinse, dry and then with vinegar (precipitates the copper residue into a harmless form), rinse, rinse, rinse, dry. Good to use again anywhere. I do the same with QT tanks, filters, tools, etc.

Can you dose bacteria into the QT ?

Yep. That's what I do with the liquid from the soak for the foam & ceramic media. Pour it right in. Good stuff. And it's what I dose new QT tanks with as well when I first fill with fresh saltwater.

Copper level approx 0.35
And I did 5 gallon water change still reading 0.25 ppm of ammonia from test kit
I don’t see any ammonia on the badge yet
Is it still safe to keep my fish there

Trust the badge. The ammonia test kit won't register correctly in copper.
Keep some premixed saltwater ready.
Don't over feed the fish.
