Hello I did do a fresh water dip before I went to work and I came home the triggerfish was swimming around but he looks like death fell over him

What is that black stuff on his fish too

By the looks (and behavior) of this fish - I think copper is the way to go here. Just my opinion

Have you seen fins turning black all I did was a freshwater dip for 5 minutes

i would recommend leave him alone tonight ,just adding stress to him and yourself.
help will arrive by morning ,
get that qt set up asap ,and follow the experts instructions.

if could be from stress - ie fish color-up differently with stress - or time of day. I would get the copper started ASAP.
