Ich?

Just picked up two new butterflies and have them in quarantine. After about four days I noticed an abundance of tiny little white dots. They seem to be loose and I am guessing they are in the ich trophonts leaving the host. I have treated the tank with Prazipro and Melafix already in the past week. Wondering if it's safe to start copper treatment now. Also have a protein skimmer and UV sterilizer on the tank

The dots on the glass or does the fish has dots as well?
If this is Ick you can treat them in your QT and do the TTM at the same time.

It looks like Ich. Just gonna move this to the disease section to make sure all the right eyes see this.

It's either velvet or a really bad case of ich. I would dose copper or CP ASAP.

A FW dip and/or chemical bath (as outlined here) may help if this is velvet.

It showed up overnight if that helps. I started Cupramine in the tank today.

Just helps cement the diagnosis of Velvet.

I did a freshwater dip last night and started the Cuprimine treatment yesterday. This morning all the spots are gone and the fish are behaving normally. So far so good

I think treating them with copper is the right route to go.

I just can't help but wonder if those are micro bubbles sticking to the fish.
