Yes the trophonts will fall off and seem like the ick is gone, only to return after the ick parasite hatches into more free swimmers infecting the fish again and again until they get overwhelmed. If you have ick, the fish need to be removed and the tank has to be fallow for 72 days. Beautiful tank by the way...

Hi, sorry I took so long getting back to this. A quarantine tank does not have to be huge and extravagant. I use a 10 gallon tank personally, however I don't have big fish. I hope this helps...

Hey guys just wanted to bring to your attention. So I got 5 cleaner shrimps the other day and today no more ich on any of the fish. They have been cleaning the fish like crazy. lol i will still monitor the progress to see if they return.
