Double check. Its been a while. But have always thought from past research they fed on sponges and bacterias. And one of the reasons it's not good for most and especially young tanks.A linka star fish will take care of that sponge? I want a blue one!
Here's a good one.

Yea Ive always read mixed success stories on most stars. Seems the best best is an established tank.I had "skimmed" that article before, but read it through completely this time. It is helpful, doesn't confirm they eat sponges, but that they have done it, lots of the wording seems vague, which is fair as no one completely knows everything about these starfish. It is an animal I have had my eye on in the past, so I don't feel I would be adding it just for the sake that it could eat the sponges and then slowly starve but more of an animal I would like to have in my tank and if it also ate the sponges I would be happy.
enjoy the sponges, and the Linka! If or "when" I get one, maybe I will keep a log and see how much success that helps me with! thank you for your help and suggestions wit the sponges.
