I picked up this piece of live rock up from my lfs, and it had a patch of purple on it in which the lfs couldn't identify. So I took a chance on. Got it home and put it in my tank and a few minutes later these blooms came out on it. Hoping it it's some kind of coral.

So I did good on getting this, it was in there live rock and only weight a half pound so got it for $3.50

I don't have have good lighting for coral right now so hopefully it'll be ok til I do

Just be sure to know that whatever this rock rests on, the GSP will eventually grow on also, like any other coral. I have a basketball size rock that sits all by itself off to the side for that exact same reason.

And what may this be, it's seems like white crust as if calcium on my rock.. what could that be. Water parameters are good. I'm just wondering

yup.. Green star polyps
they will spread like hell fire in your tank.. that is not a bad thing if you like the way they look :)

I started this rick off from a frag three months ago. it is now the size of a baseball.
In my pico tank they actually started to grow up the back of the glass on the tank.

That is aptisia.(an evil form of an anemone). it is bad! do not pluck it, or it will spawn and you will see many of them around.. worse then kicking a nest full of bees. get some joes juice or aptasia x and kill it that way.

Whow...I'm glad I asked thanks!!!! how could that possibly get in there. I noticed when I tried approaching it with suction it withdraws, here I thought it was filtering my water.. this us awesome this is my first time posting ever on reef.. thanks for advice.. now another question if I soak this rock with the juice your talking about could it possibly kill my mushrooms which are attached to my rock. How do I clean the rock without injuring my mushrooms? Sorry to hit ya with another question

read the instructions... What you are going to do is turn off all your powerbeads, and pumps to your tank.. wait 3-5 min for the flow to stop as much as possible.. use the applicator that comes with it and lightly apply the juice above the little snothead. you will see it try and retreat a little.. give it a few more seconds and then cover it in the stuff.. so that to each one of them guys.

I believe you will wait 15 min after you are finished and then turn your stuff back on.. the white goop you put on them will fall away not bothering anything else in your tank..

just read the instructions.. it is better to do that then take my word for it, but I told you almost what all to do. :)

you do not want to remove anything from the tank when doing this process.. if you do they will retreat and you will not see them again for a while.

Agreed with all here the green sprout is GSP. Personally, I like it, but have to watch to make sure it doesn't take over. Here's mine....front left....
