ID the white spots

Did you dose the meds into the water or just the food?
I dosed the Furan 2 into the water, and the rest two in the food. That's what the directions said on the packs.
Were we supposed to do it the other way?

Because the infection is external, I'd dose the water. Just make sure you have the powerhead pointed up and/ or airstones running. I'd recommend both. This will hopefully help to prevent a bacterial bloom.

Kanaplex and metroplex is one level measure (the spoon that comes with them) every other day. Furan-2 is daily. Make sure you do a waterchange every other day right before redosing the furan-2

Okay :) Will do that.

Day 1: Use recommended dosage for Metroplex, KanaPlex & Furan-2
Day 2: Use recommended dosage for Furan-2 only
Day 3: 25% Water change and use recommended dosage for Metroplex, KanaPlex & Furan-2
Day 4: Use recommended dosage for Furan-2 only
Day 5: 25% Water change and use recommended dosage for Metroplex, KanaPlex & Furan-2

Repeat this twice (10 days)... Even if he starts looking better after only a few. You can also add vitamins to his food. This will help boost his immune system

Day 1- all 3
Day 2- waterchange then furan-2
Day 3- all 3
Day 4- waterchange then furan-2
Etc
Repeat this at least 5 times (10 days)... Even if he starts looking better after only a few. You can also add vitamins to his food. This will help boost his immune system
Okay,I just got done dosing the rest 2 in the water.
I still don't have a powerhead for the tank though. Will be picking up an airstone or something tomorrow. Right now the hob filter is agitating the water surface from the return side.

What vitamins do you recommend? Where do I get them?

And you guys are amazing! I am sure we would have lost him if it weren't for you guys.

Will keep you guys updated here

Whatever you can get your hands on. Selcon is awesome, Brightwell Aquatics has some, etc.

Update:
Todd (our foxface) is doing better now, I can see the white spots fade away. Today will be the 5th day of medications for him.

Also I think we figured out what might have caused it. Someone told me he might have gotten stung by corals. Which I think is very unlikely the reason behind him.
But few days before we saw the spots, he got stuck on the outtake. He was stuck on the strainer. And the white spots he has, is the same side he was stuck on.

I had to pull him off of it to free him. So that could be a cause of it. Just a guess

Awesome! Glad to hear he's doing better. Also dig the name

Since last evening, Todd has been on a rapid decline. I don't think he is gonna see another day.

He's not eating, breathing heavily. And I just checked right now, had to move him a bit and he can't even fight the flow of the water anymore. And the flow isn't strong :/

Yeah! It was his time.

But thank you guys for helping us through this.
He seemed to get better and then all of a sudden he was doing worse than the first day.

But thank you again!

That's a nasty bacterial infection. Fish needs to be placed into a QT quickly and then dosed with the "trifecta" of Kanaplex + Metroplex + Furan2. Time is your enemy. It needs treatment quickly. Also suggest a bath in an Acriflavine product like Acriflavine MS or Ruby Reef Rally.

Aren't Kanaplex and Furan 2 similar products?
