ID the white spots

Sweet, thank you guys, you are the best. The LFS has all the meds except the Rally bath

Are Acriflavine and Ruby Reef Rally the same thing?

Both are products that contain acriflavine. Either will do. RRR has some other additives that get even better results. But either will do. That's great your LFS has the trifecta. Nice.

It being a Sunday, no other stores are open. But the one we get our fish from are open and have the trifecta, just no RRR

So bacterial infections like this are usually a secondary infection following something else like Ich, velvet, brooklynella, injuries, etc.

So the LFS doesn't have MS or RRR, but does have the trifecta. Should I dose with the trifecta now or wait to get RRR? Amazon does have RRR, But I can't get it until Wednesday .

I'd definitely still start with the antibiotics. You can always give it a bath later if need be

Start dosing the trifecta as soon as you get the fish into the QT. You can use your main tank water to speed up setting up the QT. You can bathe the fish later during eat 10-14 days of treatment.

What substrates should go in the hob filter? And what other brands are good if I can't find Aquaclear?

Any brand will work...I just like the aquaclears. I personally use one of the filter sponges and a bag of biomax. Both come with the aquaclear

Just don't use the carbon that cones with it!

Consider soaking the HOB's foam filter and Biomax/or Matrix, etc. in BioSpira or Dr. Tim's nitrifying bacteria. Soak for a couple of hours in a bowl. When done just pour the BioSpira/Dr. Tims from the bowl into the tank. Really helps keep the ammonia from spiking. Under normal circumstances, I'd soak it over night and or I'd keep a foam filter pad & a mesh bag of Biomax in my sump soaking constantly for emergencies.

What size power head should I use for the 10 gallon tank? The smallest the LFS had was 30-50 gallon. Is that too much or will that work?

You never know until you try it. What brand?
