Very small (size of a thick piece of hair). It has stripes. Any ideas what it is? Will it get bigger?

I think James M. may be right - mini-brittle stars are a common hitchhiker in our tanks, and good to have around. Each arm looks like that, and there will be five or six of those attached to a central disk. Most of these guys would have trouble spanning a U.S. $0.50 coin.

Baby brittle star, if you turn off your light for a while, probably it will go out of the gap and under red light you will be able to see it. good CUC

Guys, I don’t think it’s one leg of a Star. It was by itself, and I watched it crawl across the entire rock. Any other thoughts?

You mean you saw the begging and the end of it .

Could be a speghetti worm. I've seen some that are striped...

We are still waiting for more photos xD
Please give us more, we are interested in to figure out what's there ;)

Hard to say, could be some type of dorvilleidae or even a Polychaetes. Possibly even a peanut worm, those are sometimes black striped.

I'm still looking all my DB from literature around (the web and books) but can't attach this one to any of the worms

Probably not if it was mobile on its own...and peanuts have a very large peanut shaped base so not that...

Thanks for all the feeedback. Unfortunately he’s long gone. I only saw him for a brief time. It was a stand alone worm, maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 inch long, thickness of a thick hair. With stripes as you can see in the pic. As last by as that doesn’t sound like any predatory type worms, I guess I’m ok. I’m just not familiar with them yet... my 32gallon tank is only 1 year old.
