Maybe we should call Neptune Systems to see if they can/will sponsor him. I wonder if Terence Fugazzi can talk him into it.?

I remember BRS would ABSOLUTELY NOT switch from their previous controller to the Neptune Apex. Then... once they did it was game over. They fell in love.

Could there be a similar interaction with Jda and the Neptune Apex Controller? Could it be if he were sponsored and somebody helped him get set up that he would like the controller! ;Hilarious

I haven't had a controller in about 3 years. After previously owning an Apex, I must say I'm happy to get another one back on the system. Having the failsafe's with text/email alerts is worth its weight in gold for an Acropora system. There is just so much the Apex can do, but with that said....I've never "only" relied on the Apex alone. It's merely another great tool to have on the system as a "watch-dog" to help make the hobby more enjoyable.

Nobody likes change...especially when you get older, but sometimes change is good. It may very well be a lifesaver or should I say....a system saver.

I know I know....that's why I posted. I wanna convert him to technology! My Dad is the same way. I had to break his arm to get him on a cell phone. Now I can't get him off. He googles cooking stuff all day. He'll be 78 in April.

This had nothing to do with Jda's age BTW, but I believe he's older than me. I'm 41 not sure how old Jda is.

No doubt Jda knows how to keep a reef. His reefs speak for themselves. I know he's got a strong personality, but he's good people in my book.

I would honestly switch to Halides today if I didn't already have a PowerModule. IMO, they grow coral faster than anything else on the market especially when supplemented with T5's.

I think jda is the same age range as you.

I'm the same way as him..........I only use a temp controller & doser. The Apex is a waste of money for my purposes.

I work at home and don't travel long periods of time, so I'm able to observe and maintain my systems daily. I have no need for a controller.

I like to stay "connected" to what's going on. My problem with items like this is people tend to let the tech run things............... when murphy creeps in they lose livestock. A lot of times the damge has already happened before it can be detected.

I have had two apex systems for many years now and never hooked one up. I think if I needed to I might have but I don’t need too. Plus it just adds a number of things for me to keep my eye on for problems.
