If you had $1,000.....

Let's keep the list going! New equipment has come out since the creation of this thread!

300 - 500gal flat elasmobranch reef... plus a catshark breeder tank if I have any left. DIY to cut costs and minimal decorations. Corals not included.

This is pretty simple, if you had $1,000 what type of equipment would you get with that?

I'm between a Neptune setup (apex, power bar, trident) or a Mastertronic. (cover the extra costs as these are over $1k)

My lights are good and my filtration is all set, feel free to take a look at my build thread for suggestions! :D
I’d buy gas for the car and if I had anything left over I’d buy a ice cream cone :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes::cool:

Since you asked a specific question - between one or the other - I'll say Mastertronic. It's pretty easy to take over the functions of the trident with simple dosing. Though a case can be made for it, it's my opinion that you do not need such frequent measurements of alkalinity, Ca, etc. Additionally I wouldn't consider dosing alkalinity/Ca based on a machine value. The mastertronic seems accurate, you can set the testing schedule and it tests more.

However, my own answer would be neither.
