Following along. I haven’t heard much on the illumagic, and I’d like to see more about it.
I was curious though on the orphek. You mentioned the gateway wouldn’t work when you disconnected it from your router. As far as I know the Gen 2 gateway is hardwired. It has to stay connected to the router at all times to serve as a gateway to your lights. And also you mentioned two diodes were out. By any chance was it the two 850nm red diodes on channel 4? If so those diodes’ wavelength are considered “semi-covert” and nearly invisible to our eyes. Just curious.

Yeah could be with the gateway, according to the setup instructions though is it was able to be disconnected and used as wifi after the wifi is connected. Could be wrong but that's how instructions read.

As far as the diodes, yes one was the UV, I know it's hard to see, another wasn't. BRS even confirmed they were bad in my return.

I now have the illumagic over my waterbox, but I do not yet have it filled so can't vouch for the effectiveness. But like the ease of the setup and the app is easy to work.

The I've thing I've I noticed is, you don't see them used very often. That must say something, since we all will quickly dump something to upgrade if we don't like something.

I have narrowed it down to these two lights myself. I was going radion all the way until I saw luis tank and I was blown away! Seems he impressed a lot of people. Thomas from Brs even bought illumagic after seeing that you tube. The spread and the amount of pucks is just crazy! The problem for me is I have a 36 gallon bowfront bu t plan on upgrading soon to more than likely a 90 or 120 so If I went with radions I could just buy one or 2 more. Cant do that with illumagic. I would have 2 buy 2 separate smaller ones and hook the together in the center somehow which in the long run would be more money than to buy a 48 which one. I would have to go with 2 24 inch ones!
