Yup, It's true. I currently have 8 different species of Gobies plus 4 species of Firefish/Dartfish.
I find them so amazing to watch when they are not hiding in every crack and crevice in the tank.

Know what?

I don't blame you.

I love my freshwater peacock gudgeons and Stiphodons, and my reefing plans include firefish, neon gobies, green clowns, zebra dartfish, maybe a shrimp & watchman pair . . .

I like gobies too...

Gobies are beautiful! My favorite fish I've ever owned was a Yasha Goby. He did good for about 8 months but vanished suddenly. Very fun to watch.

Have any of you ever had a green clown goby? I really want one and my lfs said he'd get one for me but he says he's never had much luck with them living for very long. So now I'm second guessing it which sucks because I had even come up with a name already, Booger. :)

My orange clown goby disappeared after 3 weeks. I think my duncan ate him because the duncan didn't open for a week after the goby disappeared.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. I was thinking of getting a duncan too. Maybe I'll have to pass on the duncan if they can do that.

I have had a Yellow and green that did have a short lifespan. The best luck I have had is with the Citron Goby.

Here is some info. It covers why many perish at the lfs and what you can do to make yours happy and healthy. Main problem seems to be starvation. Like the mandarins many reach the lfs past the point of saving.

My yellow clowns were 3 years with me when the girl died egg bound and the male lasted about 3 more months. Had green clowns and they were fine except for my accidentally killing them (water change accident).

Gobies are great!! Such diversity and fun. I have an engineer goby and love her. Granted, these guys are not for everyone. They can wreck your sandbed and anything on it. I have had masked gobies that I loved. I am working on getting some pico type gobies now for my smaller tank.
