I'm addicted to Gobies

My orange spot shrimp goby, I've had it for close to two years.

My yellow clowns were 3 years with me when the girl died egg bound and the male lasted about 3 more months. Had green clowns and they were fine except for my accidentally killing them (water change accident).

Gobies are great!! Such diversity and fun. I have an engineer goby and love her. Granted, these guys are not for everyone. They can wreck your sandbed and anything on it. I have had masked gobies that I loved. I am working on getting some pico type gobies now for my smaller tank.
What are some pico gobies that youre looking at? I have a pico setup im looking for a different goby for rather than your usual suspects.

Here is some info. It covers why many perish at the lfs and what you can do to make yours happy and healthy. Main problem seems to be starvation. Like the mandarins many reach the lfs past the point of saving.

Wow that's some really good info, thank you. I book marked it for reference later. I think I'm going to go ahead and give it a try. I'm going out of town in February so I'm not getting any more fish until I get back but I think that's going to be my next fish. There's nowhere around here for me to buy live food so I'll make sure to order some just before I get him. Now I'm excited to get my little booger! :)

Also found these cool little guys. I am hoping to get 5 for a set up I have that goes around to kids. Aioliops megastigma (pygmy dart goby) Otherwise check out the trimma and eviota genus.

I guess a lot come from Japan.

I had a Yellow Watchman/Pistol Shrimp combo that lived through 2 runs of Ick and 1 run of Marine Velvet. I loved watching them dig my tank up. I also had a Diamond Goby that would go out of his way to make life hard on me,lol He would purposely get mouthfuls of sand and spit it out all over my corals that were on my sandbed. He was very active after about 3 days when I bought him and would cruise my glass eating copopods and ticking of my Yellow Watchman.

Cute little guys.

Those are adorable too. You can get captive bred I believe, could be wrong though. I have not had them personally though.
Yes they are captive bred now. These were one of my favorites in my 120. Had a m/f pair that would breed like clockwork. The male eventually lost his sight so I moved him to a 1 gal pico. He lived another year or so.

Yes Catalina @ 1/2 long... That's a 3 gallon tank. Guy at the store told me it would do fine in my 79° water:)
He might survive but never thrive. Here is a better choice in mini Gobies. Candy Cane @ 1/2" He's in my 3 gal here, but i moved him to my Display tank and see him once a week. :( Notice the porcelain crab dwarfs him.

Catalina gobies need to be kept cooler. It will not live long in the 79 temp. Love the candy cane. Too cute. I cannot wait to get my pygmy gobies in Jan!
