I'm planning on adding one branching piece on the right to create more of a cove, and then magnetizing the other branching piece for some verticality. Doing everything I can do create an interesting scape without breaking the rock up.
No orange filter yet so this is under whites, but kinda cool how it looks entirely different based on what angle you're viewing from! Please ignore the dangling temp sensor, I have all my wires ripped apart right now .

Amazing! Love the rockworkHacksawed a branching piece of my rock and made magnetized shelves, and I'm going to make one more shelf out of the little branching piece in the lower left of the rock work.
I feel that it's a bit crowded, even after chunking up a bigger rock into rubble, but it's not bad. I basically made a cove which should be nice for an RFA I think! I'm reserving some smaller chunks to use for frags because they'll blend in way better than plugs or discs.
Also cleaned up the wiring with some cable hiders

3 gallon pico. its a betta tank from petsmart i got for like $20. planning to upgrade to a 25g in a few months so just a temp home for the baby clown.

I could’ve taken the easy route and cycled with live rock from my display tank but I’m a big advocate of using dry rock and exercising patience. I have no problem with waiting a few weeks to allow for a proper bacterial colony buildup.
I’m hoping that my local reef pal will join in on the fun with me and join this pico reef challenge. Hopefully he sees this post and gets ahold of me soon…
The plan for now is to go with some softies, LPS, and maybe even some foolproof SPS. Given that I have good filtration, flow, and lighting, the only limitations of this little pico setup is my willingness to adhere to a strict maintenance and water top-off schedule.
