Im done with ecotech who makes a reliable led?

I would stick with radions lol... I know you dont want to hear that - but I've had a couple LED's over the years - including the 'big names' some of which mentioned here - I have had no problems with moisture and radions. I'm not a big fan of their fans - had to replace 2 - but it was simple. I think that most brands have individual problems - I've round the radions (by far) to be the most resilient and easy to use/program

you are in Canada? where are the Ecotech service people in Canada? I emailed the company directly via their website and was essentially told to f-off and buy a new one, granted it was an old pump.

But I agree, EcoTech has no interest in dealing with Canadians. We are told to speak with a Canadian rep.

My friend has had all of his radions fail on his 300g discus tank. Some multiple times, even different generations. Ive only had them for 2 months, but my 4 Kessil 360x are amazing so far. Never had any issue with their horticultural leds.

Out of curiosity, why would freshwater need high end lights?

You need powerful lights with a good spectrum in order to grow freshwater plants.

I dealt with Michael Hall of Aqua-Digital.
He's a Canadian Rep.
Was helpful though I did have to have a local electronics repair person diagnose my light for the needed part.

Interesting... so you had to deal with a third party and then take the light to a different third party for diagnosis, did they cover the repairs? Or was it out of warranty at that point?

It was out of warranty.
I went with the first option which was replace the driver (board), didn't fix the the wireless connection issue. Found out the button/ribbon assembly was corroded.
Yes I paid for both items. Was not cheap.
@mikeintoronto was correct as well as Ecotech USA wanted me to deal with the Canadian rep as well.

Ecotech vendors can help you out as well but it just adds another layer to the process.

I had/have a total of 18 radions. One fell in the water (these things can’t handle ANY water) in warranty, one got a bad wire over time, and one just stopped working. I had to pay to get them fixed. I have mixed feelings. I’m not sure I would buy them again but I’d also be very upset if I had to make that decision within the next 8-10 years. We moved to LED for cost savings but if the light doesn’t even last long enough to recoup that difference in cost we’re better off using older tech.

Because it is spectrum and water quality that effects coral growth and color (not brightness). Comparing the growth and colors under a hydra 26hd over my 45 gallon cube to the colors I got under two current orbit fixtures over my 24 gallon nano cube, colors in the nano cube are drab. Same water conditions. The nano cube has more leds. The nano cube has more par at the top. But the hydra 26 with a better spectrum made my corals much more happy. Supplements also effect colors but we won’t get into that
