I normally prowl craigslist for aquarium deals and came upon a great deal for an IM nuvo 10 that I just couldn't pass up. I have been out of the reef game for a few years but have still been keeping a high tech planted tank.

The package came with:
IM nuvo 10
Kessil a80 tuna blue + goose neck
Reef glass skimmer + air pump
Intank media basket

I've also got some equipment I never sold after breaking down my last reef 4 or so years ago, like an ecotech mp10 and jbj ato (could only find one sensor though). I'm getting a delivery tomorrow with some Tom's all in one, an aqualifter pump, heater, test kit, and refractometer.

I plan on going mainly softies and a couple Lps but also wondering if anyone can tell me if I would be able to keep a maxi mini anemone?
Included a pic of my planted tank just for fun
Thanks for looking!

First let me say welcome to Reef2Reef!

And then I'll add ... nice looking planted tank! Is that fresh water?

Give the new tank some time to cycle and then get through the 'uglies' stage before you add an anemone.

But the answer is yes to the mini-maxi anemone. I have 3 in a 40g cube along with about 35 Rock Flower Anemones (way more colorful than the mini-maxi) and lots of zoas with just a few lps and sps corals.

Welcome! I have a similar set up that I also got off Craigslist!

Yea, I'm in no rush to get the anemone, I know nothing good will happen from rushing livestock. And yes, it's freshwater planted, just felt like throwing that in there.
Love that grizzly meme
Thanks

Just from seeing your hard scape and planted tank, I can tell you have a great artistic eye!

Are you going to run bare bottom?

Thanks! No, I'm not going bare just didn't get the sand in, yet. Right about to do that though

Got the sand and water in yesterday. Wondering if the mp10 is going to too much, but we'll see. Also got the ato and skimmer set up (new airstones on the way). I ran the skimmer for a minute to see how it works and it seems that it will take some fine tuning.

I run my mp10 between constant 5%, reefcrest 15%, gyre 15% 5 second intervals, lagoon 15% in my nuvo 10 and its about perfect

Nothing new to see, ammonia has been sitting at 1.5ppm for the past 3 days (?). Just got all brs 2part dosing mixed up in one gallon jugs and recieved my jebao dosing pump. Started off using salinity by aquavitro since that's what the lfs had, but will be switching to red sea coral pro since Amazon carries it.

Ammonia dropped to 0 yesterday. Re- dosed today to 2ppm, hoping to see it drop to 0 within a day or so. I went looking for my nitrite test kit but couldn't find it so I tested nitrate with api kit and looked like 5. I have a hard time reading their colors

After 24hrs ammonia dropped from 2 to 0 (salifert test kit). Honestly kind of surprised as I started the cycle 2 weeks ago, used ocean direct live sand and dr tims one and only. Will wait fir another week or so but im excited to start getting fish and coral in the tank!

Well, I had time this weekend and everything is testing good in the tank so I went to the lfs this morning and picked up: 2 clowns, one snowflake and one flurry. Some nirvana palys (or zoas idk), green fuzzy mushrooms and a single head hammer. The clowns hid for a bit but are out now playing in the current, ther corals all opened up. I noticed the hammer has 4 tiny little nubs of heads on its branch.
Im going to have to work on my phone photography skills so bare with me here

Quite a bit has been going on, picked up a lot of coral from various lfs in the greater Seattle area. I also got a citron clown goby that is doing great, was eating from day one, a little reclusive.

I found this mushroom today at a LFS, it was in the $20 section so I scooped it up hoping I can get it to color up some. It looks like a Yuma to me and I usually see them priced much higher. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks
