Upgraded my return pump and am now looking for random flow pattern... Are these nozzles really good or just a waste of money?

if they weren't so expensive i would use them.... for around $30 a pop to me its not worth it. plus i have seen a bunch of negative reviews on the items with it getting stuck or breaking and what not (but this is just all my opinion)

i use the Hydor FLO Rotating Water Deflector and it works fine for me in my IM

sure but i still think that's a lot IMO ...the deflector is about $9 and to me it does exactly the same thing when compared to the spin stream.

now don't get me wrong, im not advocating for the deflector or anything, but for me the deflector is a better buy and the price is right IMO. now if you do get the spin stream, i would like to hear your feed back on it as i have considered getting one in the past.

Keep an eye on this thread cause I just ordered these for my jbj 29.. at 30 bucks they were a cheaper option over buying a new power head. I bought the inovative marine spin stream. They should be in soon. Will leave a 7 day in action review and a review after they've been in action after I've used them for extended use

I have had two running on my IM40 for a year they work great. I take them off every so often to clean them off. But my turbo snails love riding them around in circles. There is always one on one of them. [emoji3]

How much noise do they make?? More than the return pump...?

I have 2 running on my Nuvo 20g never any noise from them and yes they can stick on a very rare occasion but just tap it and they are good to go again.

You would have to have a totally silent room to here them. I have more noise from the water moving due to the powerhead that the spin streams.:)

Is there a way to use the rubber flanges to angle the spin stream to shot the water to the opposite corner of the cube as opposed to the front glass?

Don't know never tried it. My tank has two Mp10's so I have water flow going everywhere. [emoji3] more directions of flow is always better. [emoji106]

They are hands down worth it especially for what they do in such a small size. I've run them in my tanks for the last 4 years. They won't add flow to the tank, but they are great of randomizing the flow in the tank.

I've had two and thought they were both loud. Louder then my return pump and sounded like gears grinding. Since the tank is in my bedroom, I removed them.

Well I got my spin streams.. I ordered two since the jbj nanocube has two pumps and outlets. I installed both and notice one was way louder than the other. one is silent and one was fairly loud. my tank is also in my bedroom. I also notice that they restricted the water flow. so I took the loud one off and put the old nozzle back on one side and ran only one of the spin streams.. so, in conclusion of my first review the biggest thing that sticks out to me is production quality of these nozzles.. one quiet one loud as hell, doesn't seem very consistent. it does have the desired effect on my water flow however. I will update in the future on reliability.

I have had the cheapest of these nozzles, the Hydor one. It stopped spinning after 1.5 yrs, and it wasn't due to debris. What happens is, the tip of the plastic shaft gets worn out from the rotor spinning on it. Then the gears stop making contact inside. If you push the front slightly back, it spins, but doesn't unless you do so. It's not repairable, so I want another one but definitely not the Hydor.
