In the clouds

Algae all over on the glass! All parameters are good, but it just keeps coming back. Please Help!
From you picture I do not see any algae. The tank looks new. In a healthy tank you will have things growing. If you have nutrients something will use them. Tanks go thru phases over the first year. Algae is one of them. It comes and goes. You have options to help balance things out so you have a tank that is nice to look at while it goes thru these changes.
Export them: a skimmer, filter socks, macro algae fuge, algae turf scrubber, corals, canister filter. These will all help reduce them. Also the food you use and amount will also make a difference.
Reduce them: Live food is the best at keeping nutrients under control as long as you dont over feed. Frozen is next best. Pellets and flakes are not so good.

ha..... was gonna say "what algae"! but my eyesight isn't so hot.... I mentioned elsewhere, but I am a bit OCD, and thought "Oh there is algae everywhere!" on my tank, but when I see the beautiful display tanks at any of the various local shops, even the "show-off" tanks with nothing for sale.... if you look close, they all have some random algae etc. growing in them.

The pic is from this morning and yes it looks clear. It was like that yesterday also but clouded up after like 2 hours of light

You will need to clean the glass more often the first year. Stores clean tanks every day. Dont think those magazine tanks are like that all the time. Somebody has to clean them.

And as long as my parameters stay good I'm ok with having to clean, I just want to do this right

Good? Bad? Opinions Please

You mentioned sand sifting stars. In that tank I’m not sure you should have any. Maybe some else can chime in.

You mentioned sand sifting stars as in more than one. In that tank I’m not sure you should have any. Maybe some with more experience can chime in.

Lights quite bright. dim them down and increase blue. Increase water flow also if you are able to.
I've been only turning it up to 75%. The pic is with it at 100%. Should I turn the blue up? If so how much, and how much "blue" should there be at night

I recommend blue at 86% and whites at 20-25%.

That's the effects of the lights. Im tearing the tank down week after next. Its for sale
Can I say that I would love a system like that, but I want to grow it myself. And honestly I dont think I have the knowledge yet
