My six week old 38, mostly rock and snails now. Added a 2 spot gobi, a few softies since then. There's a nice frog spawn in the picture but it's hard to see.

I really like your tank. Curious what the real limitations of keeping any sort of tang in a tank this size are. I would love to have a tang in my 38, but everything I've read online suggests that it's too small. Does anyone have any input? I'm new to the hobby, have a 38 gallon nuvo and would love to have a tang if at all possible and humane.

It's not ... one thing to house ot there temporarily as long as you do u have a bigger tank setup as well but not if you dont cuz saying oh I'll get a bigger tank for it later. .. later generally never happens. .. I'd highly recommend not doing it unless it's tiny and you have the right size tank already set up as well and are just letting it grow a little to not be bullied or to quarantine it or to test it with certain coral frags before moving it in it's forever home

Here's my latest project:

Tank:
IM 38 Mini Nuvo
IM 38 black stand

Lights:
Kessil 350w tuna blue, wanting to get an AI Vega to complete my set. Not entirely a big fan of kessils but still a light that works and I got it for an extremely good deal.

Filtration:
IM midsize Skimmate Skimmer wrapped in polyfil to eliminate microbubbles
IM nano reactor running purigen
Two media baskets were stripped and has polyfil to act like socks and keep water as clear as possible. Rotates out every water change.
Bare bottom
25 lb.s of base rock from marco rocks, free handed no zipties, no epoxy, no nada... I like to live life on the edge bwaha jk :) hence the rocks relying on the walls to hold together otherwise I typically leave 2 inches between rocks and glass.
Naturally cycled for 2 months and still have no idea what I plan to do with the tank atm.

Heating/cooling:
Eheim jager
2 frozen water bottles during summer because I'm too poor for a chiller haha.

Top off:
Currently 10 gal container of rodi sitting next to it manually adding water, defiantly not ideal but will eventually get an ato.

Circulation:
Mp10 with a little help from stock return pumps.

I have a nano nuvo 30g
Equipments:
Light : Aquaillumination hydra w/ remote +ai rail
Wavemaker: vortech mp10
Skimmer: cadlight pls-50
Ato: jbj
Uv sterilizer: coralife
Finnex hob refugium + Finnex led light
