hello I was wondering if anyone has experience with this tank? I currently have a 90 gallon no special name pieced together really tall and hard for me to get into and clean etc and are looking to something more lower and have come across this tank it's pricey but is it worth it per say? I added a pic of the innovative marine and a pic of the tank I have now. If you have any other ideas please let me know, thanks in advance.

So is your complaint about your current setup is that the overall height is too tall or that reaching down into the tank is too deep?... or both? Because the overall height of the SR-80 is actually fairly tall at 57".

The company said the overall height was forty six inches tall so I'm confused now. I'm going to email him again right now.

Strange.... here's the documentation. And sorry I misspoke, it's just under 56"... not that it makes much of a difference.

That defeats the whole point that's exactly what I got now. I want something not so deep lower. Thank you for the response. I guess I can't see it in my head the tank is only 16" tall compared to my tank now that is 24" tall.

Yeah, you would still need a step stool to get you up over the top edge of the SR-80, but you wouldn't have to reach down as far to get to the sand bed. It's too bad you can't buy the SR-80 without the stand.... you could then just make or buy a shorter stand. I could of swore you could buy the tank and stand separately when they first came out!?!

So besides that issue is it a good tank for the money or would you recommend something else?

Yes, it's a very good quality tank! I personally do not like the all-in-one tanks though(sump in the rear). It makes maintenance more difficult and cumbersome. Also limits what equipment you can use in the sump. My previous tank was an Innovative Marine Fusion 30L. So essentially the same tank as the SR-80, just a lot smaller. I didn't realize how much I disliked having a rear sump until I got my Red Sea Reefer with the sump in the stand.

Mine is very similar. I'ts 50 Gal and made by R&J Enterprises. At 8 weeks I'm impressed. It can be drilled to accommodate a sump underneath but I haven't found that to be necessary. I ordered min for $650ish. The whole set up come with a stand with no center brace and a could of LEDs 10,000k and blues.

Looks good but I have to have a sump and I need it drilled before because I have no idea how to do any of that stuff.

I have the Reefer 450. The 350 would be a similar size to the SR-80... 48" long. They run $1700.

Well the sr80 is 1600.00 so 100.00 more. Yours is 1700 or you are saying the 350.00 is 1700.00?

The Reefer 350 runs around $1650 - $1750 depending on if you want black or white cabinet. It will not solve your height issue though. They are about 55" overall and 22" tall for the tank itself.

Well **** looks like I'll have to get the deep blue frag tank and piece it together. Not going to be fun.

If you can get a shorter stand made, you can get the tank you want. Although it will come at the cost of having to bend over to view the tanks inhabitants.

Im in the same boat. I was looking at the IM sr-60 but they are all discontinued. Marine Depot has them but they want and addition $150 delivery (no way for a discontinued tank). I'm resorting to a deep blue but I really don't want to use there stands. Too wobbly!!!!! idk what to do. Red Sea reefers are so nice but $$$ and u still need a skimmer, return, ex.... SCA tanks are nice but they are all cube shapes (unless you go 100+). I like long tanks Deep blue with a custom stand is the most reasonable way to go. Im just going to have to build a stand....ugh. I didn't like the last one I built.
