I thought the same thing, but the spongenodes in the upper left look spot on to me. I don't know much about altering photos though. I have been very tempted to take the drive to look in person.

I am in Dayton. The picture was taken with my iPhone. I realize this is a big purchase and will pull out my DSLr this week to get a accurate picture. For now here is another with my phone. I backed it up so you could see the other corals around it to see they are normal color.

I have seen this clam in person and it IS that dang pretty!!! The Spongodes and clam are both spot on in the pictures.

Looks like black egg crate with coralline algae covering it....hence the "off" color that pops up in your mind initially.
