Internet based feeder options?

Is it me or do those looks very similar to an eheim feeder + wifi
Lol, it is. I have an eheim with the battery timer in the random aquarium crap box.

The neptune AFS is just this with a aquabus connector and 40$ more.

Anything apex can be controlled manually or automatically. That’s the whole point behind the product. My experience with the afs has been great, even with very small amounts of food. With that, the food plays a big role. You can’t go wrong with the plank either, especially with freeze dried as that’s what it’s truly designed for.
I do like the avast plank, but 200$ for basically some 3d printing and a auger motor is a bit rich for me.

Like I said in other posts, the AFS is a heck of a dinnerbell for the fish, otherwise its ain't worth the 100 bucks.

Edit: I need to spell better, lol.
Maybe that’s why I like it now that you reminded me! Ha Blind as a bat but I know the fish are eating! Well….. that is if there’s actually food in it…. why I have two that I stagger filling by a week

So I ended up getting and installing the Avast Plank yesterday. Yeah, $200 is a little crazy for sure, but it works so well that it's worth it... Took more time just trying to figure out the Apex programming to get it to do what I wanted but that's sorted now.

When you install the little pump it comes with to put in the feeding tube they dont really tell you how to set the flow rate, I just snapped on the grey flow rate piece and just left it in whatever position it was in and it seems to work ok, some food never seems to leave the tube however... (And i'm not even totally sure how the water flow in there works? like does it suck the water from the top or it is sucking from the bottom?)

But thanks for the recommendations, that feeder is a 9 out of 10. I only wish they made a smaller unit like half size, this thing is way too big for my tank.... (But still precise enough control to allow very small feeding several times a day, I have it set to run for 30 seconds 5 times a day)

I see all these people recommending the Apex AFS, and I have had nothing but problems with this feeder. I travel a lot and need an auto feeder. I have had 3 Apex AFS fail on me. In my experience, this is a piece of junk.
The Apex is great for controlling the feeder on demand or at set times, and I use the Plank feeder. It actually requires two outlets on the Apex. It is not cheap but it is amazing.
In addition to this, I feed liquid foods daily with the Apex Dos. There are great videos on youtube on how to set this up and here is one that I use

Is there any sort of wifi enabled feeder out there?

I have a Ring camera pointed at the tank and I'd like to be able to hit a button on my phone to initiate feeding.
I am currently using a Fluval PF2 auto feeder and I think because I have so few fish the "lowest" setting is very inconsistent, sometime it over feeds and sometimes not at all (I watch it thru the ring camera) I come back from vacation with fish that are either starving or the tank is extra dirty with all the extra food just rotting on the bottom of the tank.

There has to be some sort of internet based feeder that I can manually activate
I too have the AFS from Apex.... it kinda sucks but it can be manually activated and seems to work well enough.

Ive had AFS 3 years now and has never let me down and took care of tank while i was on vacation. Person watching my tank had to refill it on Day 9
You are truly the exception. I cant back that thing, it was horribly noisy combined with the occasional hang while rotating. 100$ for something with that tick poor design is a hard pass for me (again). Actually I only payed 60$ and sold it for 75$.

Eheim do one for under £100.

Alternatively-reeffactory also do one that's white & looks awfully similar to the eheim one.......for a little more money :face-with-tears-of-joy:

I agree on noisy motor but actually may be a good thing as when the feeder activates, the fish know and gather at the unit waiting for the food to drop

As a side note, that Reef Jerky that comes with the Plank feeder, My fish have never gone crazy for a food before but they are like savages with that stuff... Hopefully its good and nutritious for them too..

Good stuff. I mix it with TDO small in my plank.
