I’ve been using this and I stopped bc it’s putting out a lot of junk and Idk how to change the water

Then let’s learn how to do a water change. It’s easy. Lots of videos out there. But basically:

Buy pre made salt from local fish store (LFS). Or make yourself but sounds like you don’t have much experience.

Then use 5 gallon buckets. Take out about 20-30 gallons, put back in what you took out.

I have a reverse osmosis/ deionization system that I make saltwater with would I just take water from that and switch like u said before?

Yes. RODI water is great, buy a salt mix, you’ll need to let it sit (after mixing) for 24 hours. So you might need a big 55 gallon bucket or a few 5 gallon buckets.

You’ll need something to measure the salt level (hydrometer OR refractometer). Also, water evaporates, salt is left behind.

So when just “topping off”, use fresh water only (RODI). When taking water out / putting water in, use salt water.

You might watch temperature too. But it’s a big tank, you might not have an issue there. It’s a bit of work, not going to lie. But it’s worth it.

Razor blade .....

Once that think it’s the easiest way .
a small net to gather as much of the algae floating around the water .

you might want to research water changes , testing , what test kits you will need .
Is there any fish or corals in the tank now ?

Welcome to R2R and the wonderful folks, information and help.

Do you have any clean up crew (CUC) snails, and or hermit crabs? They will help you get the rocks and glass clean. There is lots of great info here on this site. Also BRS has some great videos. Lots are recommending the 52 week series. Sounds like you have been left with a crash course in reefing. We are all here to help.

I recommend to everyone joining to create a tank build thread. 1. You get to see where you have started and how much you have grown in this hobby. 2. We love pictures and to see what your doing with your tank. 3. It’s a great learning tool for all of us to see what works and doesn’t . We learn great stuff from each other.
Lastly the only bad question here is the one not asked...
