He’s still shy, and has a bit more coloring up to go, but decided today he wouldn’t be camera shy and let me get some pictures. When stressed from changing environments or shipping they become a pale blue gray, and the yellow returns as they settle in and get comfortable. After almost a week, this is how far the yellow has come back

But here is my new yellow chromis, I figure I would share because I’ve never seen golden or yellow chromis, he’s friendly to my fire fish and wrasse, and is eating flake food and mysis

Shout out to @DetroitReefClub for this guy and the yellow wrasse

Beautiful. I saw this listed on their site and looked for info but couldn’t find much. I hope it does well for you.

Thank you! Apparently not collected / sold much but so far behavior seems like any other chromis

He's not a Chromis. He is a lemon damsel. I got the same one 2 weeks ago and it also has some coloring up to do, to speed it up and feed him algae,

I did question if he’s a chromis or damsel and was comparing pictures between lemon damsel and yellow chromis trying to figure it out but it was imported and sold as a chromis and I felt the pictures matched better

Ok so now I’m a little upset, the sellers website has updated and now it’s labeled as a yellow damsel. I was assured it was a peaceful chromis. I know what damsels grow into and would have avoided

Same thing happened to me last week. I bought five adorable little “peaceful chromis like cross damsels”… I’m glad I asked this forum what they were because I forgot the name as soon as I left the store. They’re still in the tank. Cute and little for now. I have to device a plan to get them out.

Obvious case of fish fraud but give the little guy a chance and see what happens. I've got damsel , anthia and 6 line and they are buds.

The ole bait and switch

So far he’s been good with other fish but I suspect he’s been nipping certain Goni and I also suspect him if nipping scolymia

I’ve been feeding him frozen mysis, mysis flakes, and now (starting 1-2 days ago) frozen Emerald greens mix

yeah, the same thing has happened to mine. He is fairly new and still becoming a resident.

He’s mostly pale yellow. Strongest yellow is the tail and belly area
He will just find a little nook in the rock and coral and claim his space. That's what my blue damsel did. Doesn't bother anyone who doesn't trespass.
