Def i would be leaning towards the bigger one, filtration is too fly that it's outta in the space. Can easily handle bioload of 10000 gallons, it's not nitrification im worried about, nor leaning too much towards denitrification as well. Coz the current setup is capable for denitrification in it self. It's just to create some food for them buggers and to have a cool looking gadget up my arsenal and to show you some love

Not sure if that was what you meant to post lol but if you were looking at it as a food source i.e. algae flowing into the tank then positioning it to drain directly into the tank might be the way to go. I've noticed that my Anthias hang out by the drain of my scrubber, waiting for pods I assume

This is awesome. I've been avoiding watching these so not to get antsy while waiting. Now that its getting very close I decided to catch up in this thread. Now I'm excited for that L8. That thing will be big.

On the larger units, no - the interlock rails on each end are "male/female" so the 3D printed potentiometer holder is made only for the female side. But I'm not against having one made for the male side so that the pots are both on the same side. Would not be difficult. Good suggestion, I'll work up a model for Steve's to print for me

That would be great as its so long and could be difficult to see to make sure both sides are at the same setting. Mine won't be under a tank so will be a bit easier but I would still have to get on a ladder and stretch over.

You can always get an Arduino based controller or just an Uno & display and control it all digitally

Can I pipe it into my Apex? I've got a free VDM port.
Could maybe do some awesome stuff. Now I'm brainstorming as I type this. Need to get a dc apex controlled pump too. Then the Apex could set up profiles for just after cleaning, 3 days after cleaning, 6 days after cleaning 9 days after cleaning, etc (numbers from my rear end) and each a ramping up of light intensity and pump intensity leading up to full growth.

Yup, surging via a DC pump at some constant base flow level is something that really hasn't been explored much.
Also the light-cycle after a harvest, that was one of the reasons I added the controller port. Plus it was inherent with the driver chip, so why not.
You can dim off of Apex & Reefkeeper via an additional board that converts 0-10v to PWM. The drivers are PWM based (CAT5101) so they need a PWM input. I don't know much about Alex programming but I do have a few of the converter boards, kinda been looking for someone to monkey with them
