Introducing the Photon V2!

Wow! Those are some very intense numbers. I'll have to slowly work up to this schedule.
Thank you.
No problem. Notice though, I'm using the smaller numbers written above some of them. 80-85% was a little too much. I really need to write out a neater schedule.

Made up a more readable chart of my light schedule.

I've been running these v2's for 3 months now. Some zoas thinned out a little and my gold torch has slightly bleahed during the switch, which was a 120w chinese black box with no dimmer (100%) just blue and white. My SPS's are loving the new light. Acro's and monti's have ALL shown improvement in color. Here is my 40 breeder that I have under this light. Photo was taken with blues only using a gel filter.

I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with this light from Reef Breeders. Very nice job guys.

Looks great Paul!

The Cree XT-Es are pretty intense compared to the bridgelux royal blues, so some of the soft corals/lps might get a bit more light than they like, they should bounce back after a few weeks, you may want to put the gold torch in a lower light area and start slowly moving it back to the middle.

Thanks! Yea I think they are starting to slowly spring back. I may scoot the torch over. I've been keeping an eye on everything.

At the moment I'm still trying to find the lighting sweet spot for my tank. I'am manually controlling the lights. I start the day with the moon light mode. An hour later I switch to the cloudy mode with all channels at 35%. (0900- 1200 hrs.)
From 1200- 1600 hrs. I run the Sunny mode with channels 1 & 2 at 40%.Channel 3 at 72%. Channel 4 @ 35% and channels 5 &6 at 50%.
I found that having Channel 4 (White lights) at 50% were beginning to bleach some of my SPS.

I would recommend just running the light in custom- you can have it peak for an hour or 2 in the middle of the day, and it will be less intense as it ramps up/down, plus it will be a more regular light schedule for your corals.

Agreed 100%. Set it and forget it once you get it tuned in.

Paul87 based on your posted lighting schedule how long did it take you to get to the listed intensity?
The reason I'm asking is I have bleached some of my SPS that are half way down in the water in the column. ( Approx. 20 inches from the lights.)
The highest intensity on the white channel was 40% for about three hours and 70% on the royal blues. All others were set at 35%.

Not very long. A few weeks. The last light I ran was a 120w led panel at 100% the whole time it ran. I did get a little bleaching, mostly in my LPS. My SPS have colored up better with this light after they got adjusted to it. I may actually turn down to 60-65% instead of the 70% to see if my acans and torches like that better. The acros and montis appear to love where it's at now though.
I would leave it at the 40% for now if that's not bleaching anything and slowly turn it up maybe 5% every two weeks keeping a close eye on everything.

Note: 70% is intense on the white channel. I don't see me ever going over that more than likely.

Paul87 have you had, or did you have issues with burnt acro tips during the light assimilation process?
I'm currently having the tips of my acro's turning white as if they are being burnt. Even some of the hardiest SPS such as the Montipora Se tosa are having issues.
All the crucial parameters are in check. I have recently switched to the custom mode on my lights and do not believe the current settings are to strong as the royal blues max out now at 60% and the white channel at 35% withe the remaining channels maxing out at 50%.
I think I may have burnt the tips with my prior settings and I'm now seeing the results.
I will see how things progress over the next couple of weeks, as I will stop chasing the dragon and leave the lights alone!

@lwmnfrvr, I did get a little bleaching on the tips early on while I was figuring out the intensity I needed without the use of a par meter, which o still plan to test with this light one day if I can borrow my buddies. The acros and montis are all coming back with a vengeance now it seems, and I couldn't be happier about that. I Max my lights now at 65% on whites, hopefully my gold torch and sunburst acan start to get their beautiful colors they once had back.

Thank you Paul, I have a par meter that I can use to set the lights, but I believe the calibration may be off as I have compared it with another club members par meter, and the readings are off by at least 50 points. I will just make the adjustment and add the points to the reading.
The only other thing I can point to is a possible heat spike. Lats week we got up to 107 degrees. I don't use a chiller and rely on the ambient air conditioned temperature of the house to regulate the tank temp. I keep the indoor temp. at 79 degrees.
When I learn how to post pic.'s I'll put some up.
